Autumn leaves

As was remarked in the book «Little Prince» the love for someone or something is equal to the time you spend for he/she/it. This is an act of love, of care, of offering.

This artistic project has a ritual form. This is a ritual of gratitude towards nature and especially to the trees. Receiving and giving. This project resembles a liturgy process.

I collect leaves of a type of tree. Every tree has a different coloration in its dried leaves. From yellow to dark brown. In my area red color is not common.

I grind and compact the dried leaf powder into a sphere. I use simply water and sugar in different proportions to make them stable but still fragile and easy to decay.

Finally, I come back to the same tree where I took its leafs and then I leave the leaf-sphere on a branch. This ephemeral sphere will be diluted and eroded with water and wind, and the particles will fall on earth, leaking on the roots. This will be a very tiny and symbolic acceleration of hummus developing.

I worked in this project at Serralada litoral and at Montseny. I selected some of the native or common trees of these areas like:
